Chocolate: It's an addiction!
Chocolate, delicious mixture of mainly cacoa and cocao butter. Chocolate was brought to Europe by the Spaniards, who learned its use from the Aztecs at the time of their invasion in 1519. It was introduced into England about 1657. In the United States, chocolate was first manufactured at Milton Lower Mills, near Dorchester, Massachusetts, in 1765.
Do you feel down? Thing are just not working out? Sleepy? Forget about coffee, chocolate is the answer! Chocolate contains theobromine, which works like caffeine. Like coffee, chocolate isn't very healty. (but it doesn't give you bad breath). I try to limit my choco-intake to an average daily dose of 25 g, which happens to be a bar of the jumbo packing of my favourite brand: Côte d'Or (hence their elephant trademark on this page). Côte d'Or is about twice the price of ordinary chocolate, but it's worth every penny! When you ever come to visit Holland, you can find it at most supermarkets (a&h has got it). When you can't find it, 'Verkade' or 'Droste' is consumable as well.
A bar of chocolate and a cup of tea is a great combination. I'm not a big coffee fan. Do like the Italian ones and Irish coffee (naturally ;). Nothing better than finishing a long day of ice-skating with a cup of hot chocolate with rum at the fireplace. Stroh rum + chocolate is a golden combination!
